Sound Brings Light to Haiti

WGM’s partner ministry in Haiti, Radio Lumiere, is making strides in its recovery and expansion since the devastating earthquake in January 2012. With the help of other nonprofit organizations like HCJB World Radio and National Religious Broadcasters, Radio Lumiere truly is a light for Christ in Haiti.

Radio Lumière needs qualified individuals to help with the ministry in Haiti. Whether you can come for a few weeks or longer, if you have experience in radio or TV engineering, programming, or other areas of radio and television production, there’s a place for you! Mechanics, maintenance personnel, and builders are also needed. Check out this list of available ministry opportunities.

Facebook, Box Tops, and Missions

This isn’t the first time we’ve highlighted a way that Facebook or other social media can help missions. In this case, anyone can get involved, and it’s incredibly easy.

Betsy Tarr, along with husband Bill, are currently missionaries in McAllen, Texas, a small town on the Texas/Mexico border. She serves at Taylor Christian School, which provides a quality education in safe, Christian environment. TSC benefits from friends and supporters who collect and send in Box Tops and other labels. (Check out this list of applicable labels.)

Right now, you can help TCS win BIG in the Box Tops department by voting for the school here. Avery is running a “Give Back to School” campaign and the winning school can earn thousands of Box Tops, which can then be used to purchase all kinds of supplies, even vehicles. Voting is open May 7 – September 14, 2012, and you can vote every day.

Betsy is doing a great job getting this link out there on Facebook, but we need your help! Join the fun and help Taylor Christian School today.

Want to start collecting Box Tops and Campbell’s soup labels for TCS? Start putting them in an envelope (keep it in a kitchen drawer or clipped to your fridge) and send it to WGM when it’s full. Mail it to World Gospel Mission, PO Box 948, Marion IN 46953. We’ll make sure it gets to the school!
