Core Values of WGM: Where the Roots Start

    • Prayer
There is no other value more fundamental to World Gospel Mission than that of prayer. God-directed ministry does not happen without prayer. All of the other core values have their center in prayer. Prayer unites all of WGM in ministry, from the prayer warrior in the local church to the missionary on the field.  All believers have equal access to the throne of God, and for this we emphasize prayer as that which we do before attempting any ministry. It is the breath we breathe as we carry out every ministry, and it is our expression of thanksgiving for what we see God doing through our ministry.
    • God-directed Ministry
WGM affirms that as ministers of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, our sufficiency is from God (2 Corinthians 3:5) and apart from Christ we can do nothing. For this reason, we depend on prayer as vital to everything we do. We seek God’s direction in our decision making, understanding that we need His help and direction every day.
    • Scriptural Holiness
God tells us that we are to be holy as He is holy (1 Peter 1:16). To that end, we are committed to the demonstration of a practical holiness that shows itself in a life that is lived daily under the direction of the Spirit, demonstrates the fruit of the Spirit, and is characterized by service and integrity. We emphasize scriptural holiness as a doctrine to be believed, an experience to be received, a message to be declared, and a way of life to be demonstrated.
    • Wholistic Ministry Approach
Understanding the Bible mandates that we care for the whole man. WGM resolves to increasingly and intentionally integrate the meeting of human needs and capacity building with our efforts to evangelize and disciple people with a whole ministry that will in the end transform lives, communities, and the nations of our world.
    • Church-focused Work
WGM works in partnership with sending churches to establish growing churches that will, in turn, become sending churches. While our ministry takes many forms, including preaching, teaching, and healing ministries, everything we do has as its ultimate focus the salvation of souls and the building of the church of Jesus Christ. This value is important to us as we set ministry strategies and evaluate current activities.
    • Integrity
As a ministry entrusted with the stewardship of funds given for the purpose of expanding the kingdom of God, WGM holds a high standard of accountability and accurate reporting of finances. We provide donors with meaningful, accurate, and up-to-date information about expenditures and programs. We also expect the lives of WGM missionaries and staff to be characterized by honesty and by harmony between what is professed and what is practiced.
    • Excellence
As stewards of a critical mission, we strive to complete all we do with the highest quality of workmanship possible. Since we work cross-culturally, sometimes the measures that we use differ from what they would be if we were working in only one culture. As a result, we are flexible in our methods, innovative and willing to try new approaches, and constantly aware that results are not always immediately evident in kingdom work. We strive to foster a culture of lifetime learning by providing ongoing training opportunities for our people.
    • Servanthood
The Apostle Paul stated, “I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some” (1 Corinthians 9:22). WGM values this approach to world evangelism, in imitation of Christ’s humbling Himself to reach all men. Although we may provide materials, knowledge, seminars, institutions, and programs, our greater gift to the body of Christ is our service.
    • Community
There is a strong sense of family at WGM. We choose an organizational structure that emphasizes a collaborative decision-making process. We value one another and treat each other with dignity, respect, and courtesy. This spirit extends to our donors and volunteers, whom we consider partners with us in a common mission. We also reach out to other organizations, seeking to find areas in which we can partner in ministry, working together as one rather than duplicating efforts unnecessarily.

The task of spreading the gospel is a responsibility of all Christians around the world. We value your prayers and ask that you consider subscribing to the Prayer Lifeline to stay connected and learn what needs you can help us pray for. May God be glorified as we continue to journey into the unreached areas of the world with God’s Word as our guide.
