Teach English, Do Missions

For this month’s missionary staff needs highlight, we’re talking English.

Teaching it, that is!

Teaching English has been used for many years as a way to build relationships and share the message of Jesus with those who want to learn the English language. While certification in ESL/TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) helps in building curriculum and understanding the learning process, it’s most definitely not a requirement. The most important things are patience and concern for others,.

There are ESL/TESOL opportunities in Bolivia (college students, K-12 grade, classroom, and conversation setting), Honduras (classroom setting and K-12), Japan (youth ministry, informal classes), Muslim Ministries USA (young adults/adults classroom setting), Ukraine (school, Bible studies, English clubs), Texas/Mexico Border Ministries (community classes with adults), and Peru (developing ESL program).

All these needs would welcome short-term and long-term help. Several have job descriptions available at www.wgm.org/go.
