“If you had 60 seconds to present the gospel to someone, what would you say?”
Jeff and Tascha Fyke, new missionaries with WGM who will be serving in Kenya, were asked this question during a course called Perspectives on the World Christian Movement (Perspectives for short). The 15-lesson course takes students through the history of missions, ministering within cultural context, current challenges facing missions, and much, much more. Classes are taught by experienced missionaries, pastors, professors, leaders, and authors. Jeff recently blogged about how he would answer the above question. How would you respond?
“II Corinthians 5:18 came to mind. ‘All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation.’ To me, this, and the previous verse, is a missionary theme passage…” (Read the rest of Jeff’s thoughts on their blog, Send Us Out.)
Perspectives is completely volunteer-driven, hosted by churches around the country. The course can be taken for undergraduate and graduate level credit. At the end of the course, students are given practical ways to move forward with their new knowledge into reaching out. Check out the video below to learn more:
