WGM missionaries in Zambia, Billy Wayne and Jenny Fuller, have been working to renovate a women’s health clinic in the city of Livingstone, and recently attended the dedication of the clinic with some special guests: former president George W. Bush and Laura Bush. The Bushes got their hands dirty as they helped with renovation of the clinic.
To view official photos of the Bushes’ Zambia trip, visit this link (Facebook). According to the album description, “President George W. Bush and Mrs. Laura Bush travel to Livingstone, Zambia to continue their commitment to the people of Africa through the work of their global health initiative at the George W. Bush Institute. While in Livingstone, President and Mrs. Bush work alongside local Zambians, U.S. embassy officials and Bush Institute staff to renovate a clinic that when completed, will serve as a cervical cancer screening and treatment center.”
George W. and Laura Bush are using their resources and abilities to improve the quality of life for many Zambia women through this clinic. What can you do with the resources and abilities you have to reach out to people around you – or far away? Do some creative thinking and check out the Resources section on wgm.org for some help along the way.
